About Mount Elgon National Park
Mount Elgon National Park encompasses the massive, solitary volcanic mountain that straddles the border of Uganda and Kenya. It is an ancient extinct volcano with one of the largest calderas in the world. The park offers diverse ecosystems, from montane forest to high open moorland, and is home to unique flora and fauna. Hiking to the Wagagai peak (4321m) is a multi-day adventure, passing through stunning landscapes, caves, and hot springs.
