About Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda's largest protected area, bisected by the mighty River Nile. Its namesake, Murchison Falls, is a spectacular sight where the entire Nile squeezes through a 7-meter gorge before plunging 43 meters. The park offers classic African wildlife viewing, including the "big four" (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo), along with giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and a rich birdlife. Boat safaris to the base of the falls are a highlight.
